Ideas - Can you help?

I am needing some creative input for a ministry idea. We had such a great season of outreach with Christmas On the Town 2006 that it compiles me to start considering another way to take worship to the streets.

Here are my brainstorms that I am praying about the possibility of:

  • Easter version of COTT (Hanna says call it "New Life on the Town")

  • Like COTT we could sing at local businesses

  • At COTT 2006 several people asked for a CD or recording of the songs we were singing, The idea is to make a recording of some of the songs plus a New Life message from Pastor Steve and Jeremy to give away as a gift to adults. The gift for kids could be a small pack of Jelly Beans

  • Instead of red sweat shirts we could have shirts made that have the New Life logo on them that could be worn at other times as well.

  • We could use CD Traxs or our live Praise Band since the weather will be warmer.

  • We could do worship in the park where we do a free worship concert. Question - How do we draw a crowd?

These are some thoughts. Here is where I need your ideas. Please respond by typing a comment to this post by clicking the link below this post. You can also help me pray about this possibility.

Thanks for considering my opinions. I really like the color changes too!

Joseph,
I was once interviewed by Hal Rowe of WHKY radio on his morning talk show "First Talk".
He is always interested in a new happening around the Hickory area, and is on a constant search for topics to fill his radio show.
If we held an event in the park, as you suggest, I feel fairly certain I could schedule a morning interview to talk about, and promote the event.
He sets aside Fridays as "Entertainment Friday" and will normally dedicate at least a 30 minute segment to the topic he has scheduled.
Kick the idea around, and let me know if it sounds interesting.

Nick,
That is a great idea and now we have it in blog to remind us. Thanks for your input. Joseph
